Tuna is a large fish of the mackerel family that lives in all tropical and mid-latitude oceans. It has bright yellow fins, a silver belly and a dark blue back with yellowish stripes on the sides.
Tuna is an important commercial fish. It contains the largest amount of easily digestible protein and a complex of vitamins A, E, group B, as well as Omega-3 and -6 fatty acids. Tuna contains a lot of fat, but it is important not to dry out the fish when cooking. Very often, tuna meat is served as steaks, sashimi or added to other dishes. The meat has a delicate, bright pink color, elastic fibrous texture, rich taste and charming aroma.
