Razor shells
The bamboo mollusk, or Solen, hides in an elongated shell that resembles a bamboo tube. In Asian cuisine, it is called Scottish bamboo. The mollusk lives in the Seas of Japan and Okhotsk. Europeans nicknamed the Bamboo clam the razor clam or blade clam. It hides in the sand, exposing only a small part of the shell (the entire shell reaches a length of about fifteen cm).
